Rubber Lubricant :
PARAS high quality rubber lubricants makes the installation easy. Available in 50gm, 100gm, 500gm, 1kg.

Solvent Cement :
IS : 14182 - 1994
PARAS believes in providing total solutions and thus, also manufactures Solvent Cement utilizing its own most sophisticated unique method with the following special features:

  • Good Viscosity stability of the solution.
  • Excellent bonding performances specially maintaining high bonding strength at a high temperature (80oC-90oC)
  • Free from lumps, macroscopic undissolved particles and foreign particles.
  • Free from gelatin.
The solvent cement shall be thixotropic & consist substantial of solvents that will swell unplasticised PVC Resin & stabilizer. Both good and pure solvents are used for solvent cement. Dibutyl Tin Maleate is used as stabilizer for printing Discolouration & for maintaining shelf stability of the cement.

    • Note A typical Hot & Cold water distribution system operating at 60-70C requires support for horizontal lines every 90cm (3 feet) for diameters below 32mm and every 120cm on larger sizes.
      The Solvent Cement should always be kept in a cool dry place and the lid of the container must be tightly screwed when not in use to prevent evaporation.

      Circuit Testing Once an installation is completed and cured as per these recommendations, the system should be hydrostatically pressure tested at 10 bar for one hour. When pressure testing, the system should be filled with water and all air removed from the farthest and highest points in the run. If a leak is found the joint must be cut out and discarded and a new section should be installed using couplings.

      Please Note : Air testing is not recommended.

Cut the PARAS SWR pipe to the required length.
Chamfer the edge of the pipe Clean all the dirt & dust, make sure that the spigot and socket are thouroughly clean and dry.
Apply PARAS Rubber lubricant on the external surface of the chamfered end of the pipe and on the rubber gasket. Fit the rubber ring in to the groove of the pipe.
Confirm that ring seal is in position in the housing.
Push the pipe fully into the socket and mark the pipe depth in the socket using the marker.
Pull out the pipe by 12mm from the socket register. This is very important as it takes care of thermal expansion and contraction.
Joining of C.I. and G.I. Pipes to PARAS SWR Pipes
Roughen the external surface of the pipe / fitting end with the file or sand paper. Apply a thin coat of solvent cement on the roughed surface with a brush. Sprinkle dry sand on the solvent cement and leave it to dry for few minutes. A rough base is ready for good bonding with the cement. Insert the solvent cement based PVC pipe in to the C.I. / A.C. socket & fill the gap with regular Portland cement.

      Directions for use
    • Store and use at temperatures between 40"F and 100F
    • Stir or shake before using. If "jelly-like" don't use.
    • Square pipe ends. Remove all burrs an dirt.
    • Apply thin coat of cement to fitting.
    • Do not "overcoat" thin wall or bell end pipe.
    • Assemble parts QUICKLY! CEMENT MUST BE FLUID, if not fluid, re-coal both parts.
    • Push pipe FULLY into fitting using a 1/4 turning motion until pipe bottoms.
    • Hold pipe and fitting together for 60 seconds.
    • Allow joint to cure sufficiently before handling.
    • Do not pressure test until cement is fully cured for 24hrs.
    • After 24 hrs Test Pressure at 24 kg/cm2
    • Keep container closed when not in use.
    • Do not mix with any solvent.

      CAUTION:
    • EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE
    • VAPOR HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED, DRINK WATER. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING, CALL A DOCTOR.
    • IF INHALED, GET FRESH AIR. IF BREATHING PROBLEM PERSISTS SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.
